Text Messages From HaShem

Think texting is new? Think again!  According to Wikipedia, RCA introduced telex in 1933. This was a switched network of teleprinters. It’s definitely not an “I-Phone”, no apps,  and Carrying this thing around in your back pocket wouldn’t be happening!

Beloved, Let’s go back even further. Let’s go back to Tetzaveh. Exodus 27:20-30:10. It’s in this very portion of Torah you will find the kind of texting HaShem  (The Name, of G-d) did. After the instruction of how The Children of Israel will have to keep themselves busy pressing olives for the Light, we are then told in detail how it is that Aaron and his sons are to be Consecrated with priestly garments. Every kohain (priest) who served wore these four garments: kesones (the shirt), michnasayim (the breeches), avnait (the belt), and the migba’as (the turban). These were all made of white linen.

The Kohain Gadol (High Priest) wore these as well, except his turban was different. He also wore the “golden garments”. These included, the me`il (the mantle), the aifod (ephod, or apron), the chosen (breastplate), and the tzitz (the headplate). Each of the garments attoned for a particular sin.

The Coshen is also referred to as the Breastplate of Righteousness. It was woven from a 28 fold thread.  Made into a rectangle and was folded in the middle to form two perfect squares. This was worn over the High Priests heart, one layer above the other.  Between the two layers were the Urim and the ve’tumim.  This was the soul of the choshen.  The urim ve’tumim were scrolls of parchment on which Moses had written the “Divine Seventy Two Letter Name”.

The Urim ve’tumim caused the breastplate to “light up”. The letters supplied the Divine answer to questions that were posed to it. Urim, אורים, the letters lit up, (from the root אור, meaning light). The tumim, תומימ, their say was final and unalterable  (derived from the word תם, meaning perfect.

So the Breastplate of Righteousness became the final decision in a doubtful issue.  Only matters concerning the king or the entire group of the children of Israel. It was not permissible to question them for private purposes. The person who ask the question would come to the High Priest who was wearing the Urim ve’tumim. The High Priest would turn his face in the direction of ark (on which the Presence of G-d rested), and the questioner, standing behind him, would ask his question in a quiet voice (like the voice of someone praying). The High Priest was then inspired by the Ruach ha-Kodesh (Holy Spirit).  When he looked at the letters that lit up on the choshen (breastplate), he was able to combine them correctly and decipher HaShem’s reply.

The urim ve’tumim were consulted by the Children of Israel throughout the period of the T’nach (Old Testament). They ceased to function after the destruction of the Holy Temple in Jerusalem.

Another of HaShem’s way of communication with His People. According to the Midrash the Urim ve’tumim could also indicate when a transgression had taken place. When a sin was committed,  that Tribes precious gem dimmed.

The name that appears at the top of each square is the name of the stones for each tribe. English bibles translate these to actual gems,  but they are not certain. The choshen bore the names of the forefathers and the tribes. All the letters of the Alef-beit were included so that sentences could be constructed by combining letters transmitted by the urim ve’tumim.
Happy day!

Olive You

You may notice that all liquids, when mixed together, will blend into a single “concoction”.   Except for oil, it does not intermix, it will always separate. It floats to the top, rises above.

From this week’s Torah Portion (Tetzaveh), Exodus 27:20  “Also you are to command Bnei-Yisrael , that they are to bring to you pure olive oil beaten for the light, to cause a lamp to burn continually.

Immediately after the various instructions about the building of the tabernacle and creating it’s furnishings, and vessels, and tools another mitzvah (commandment). A donation if you will, that the Children of Israel will have to keep themselves busy doing.  Only oil from the first pressing from the olive was accepted as fuel for the menorah.  It was only the first few drops that were “clear” (without sediment). Why select olive oil? Look how Israel is likened to the olive tree.

HaShem called your name— a leafy olive tree, beautiful with well-formed fruit.. Jeremiah 11:16

Let’s visit again the word pure in the Hebrew. It is always good to have a better understanding, after all, it is The Word of The Holy One!  The primitive root is zakah, זכה, meaning blameless, to be clear, clean, pure, cleansed. Pretty much, the true nature of Holiness.  The word olive originates from the word kathath ,כתב , pronounced ‘kaw-thath’, meaning crushed, to beat, crush by beating, defeated. The oil, שמן, shemen , meaning fat, oil, choice, fatness, fertile, and ointment. Then you have the word beaten, zayith, זית, meaning olive tree.

Consider the blameless, Genesis 17:1 says  When Abraham was 99 years old, HaShem told him to “continually walk before Me and you will be blameless”.  Noah was a righteous man, according to Genesis 6:9, He was blameless among his generation, he walked continually with HaShem.  Job was a man that was blameless and upright, he feared HaShem and shunned evil (Job 1:1). Satan tried his best, with permission from HaShem, to destroy Job’s righteousness,  but like pure oil, he rose to the top.

Yeshua spoke, “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see G-d” (Matthew 5:8). Titus 1:15 says, “ To the pure all things are pure; but to those who are defiled and unbelieving,  nothing is pure. Both their mind and conscience are defiled.” How is The Holy One to be in a relationship with someone who isn’t pure? It’s simple,  He can’t.

The innermost essence of who you are is pure. It is only the Evil Inclination, the yaitzer hara, which prevents one from serving HaShem. Submitting to Our Maker, Our Husband, the Bridegroom-King, means in this relationship we must purify ourselves. We must let Him make ourselves clean by immersion in the Word, the Torah! Messiah gave His life (“not having stain or wrinkle or any such thing”) So That His Bride might be Holy! So that His People be set apart, like the oil! Always rising to the top.

Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership is there between righteousness and lawlessness? Or what fellowship does light have with darkness? What harmony does Messiah have with Belial? Or what part does a believer have in common with an unbeliever? What agreement does G-d’s Temple have with idols? For we are the temple of the living G-d —just as God said, “I will dwell in them and walk among them; and I will be their G-d, and they shall be My people. Therefore, come out from among them, and be separate, says Adonai . Touch no unclean thing. Then I will take you in. I will be a father to you, and you shall be My sons and daughters, says Adonai -Tzva’ot .” Therefore, since we have these promises, loved ones, let us cleanse ourselves from all defilement of body and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of G-d.  2 Corinthians 6:14-7:1

Torah Study Tuesday ~Tetzaveh

image

This week we explore Tetzaveh  [Exodus 27:20-30:10, Haftarah:  Ezekiel 43:10-27, Gospel: Mark 4:35-5:43]. Translated from Exodus 27:20, “You shall command”.  According to The Midrash, Moshe’s (Moses’s) name is not mentioned even once in this entire portion.  This was the fulfillment of the curse which Moshe brought upon himself. After the sin of the Golden Calf, he told HaShem, “If You do not forgive their sin, I beg You, blot me out from Your Book which you have written!” So it was, HaShem erased Moshe’s name from Tetzaveh.

Let’s find Messiah Yeshua in Tetzaveh!  The title is composed of four Hebrew letters, תצוה (You shall command) in the Hebrew, each letter has meanings, pictograms, and number values. Here is the breakdown of this week’s title, Tetzaveh :

image

Tav  (ת) tree of life,  cross, mark, sign. The tav has a number value of 400 which is the number for testing.

John 19 speaks of Yeshua’s crucifixion on the treethese things were done so the scriptures could be fulfilled!
John 19 is fulfillment of.. psalm 22:  Yet You brought me out of the womb, made me secure at my mother’s breasts. From the womb I was cast on You— from my mother’s womb You have been my God. Be not far from me! For trouble is near— there is no one to help. Many bulls have surrounded me. Strong bulls of Bashan encircled me. They open wide their mouths against me, like a tearing, roaring lion. I am poured out like water, and all my bones are disjointed. My heart is like wax— melting within my innards. My strength is dried up like a clay pot, my tongue clings to my jaws. You lay me in the dust of death. For dogs have surrounded me. A band of evildoers has closed in on me. They pierced my hands and my feet. I can count all my bones. They stare, they gape at me. They divide my clothes among them, and cast lots for my garment. But You, Adonai , be not far off! O my strength! Come quickly to my aid! Deliver my soul from the sword— my only one from the power of the dog. Save me from the lion’s mouth. From the horns of the wild oxen rescue me. Psalms 22:10-22
Also , Isaiah 53  ‘Who has believed our report? To whom is the arm of Adonai revealed? For He grew up before Him like a tender shoot, like a root out of dry ground. He had no form or majesty that we should look at Him, nor beauty that we should desire Him. He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows, acquainted with grief, One from whom people hide their faces. He was despised, and we did not esteem Him. Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our pains. Yet we esteemed Him stricken, struck by God, and afflicted. But He was pierced because of our transgressions, crushed because of our iniquities. The chastisement for our shalom was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed. We all like sheep have gone astray. Each of us turned to his own way. So Adonai has laid on Him the iniquity of us all. He was oppressed and He was afflicted yet He did not open His mouth. Like a lamb led to the slaughter, like a sheep before its shearers is silent, so He did not open His mouth. Because of oppression and judgment He was taken away. As for His generation, who considered? For He was cut off from the land of the living, for the transgression of my people— the stroke was theirs His grave was given with the wicked, and by a rich man in His death, though He had done no violence, nor was there any deceit in His mouth. Yet it pleased Adonai to bruise Him. He caused Him to suffer. If He makes His soul a guilt offering, He will see His offspring, He will prolong His days, and the will of Adonai will succeed by His hand. As a result of the anguish of His soul He will see it and be satisfied by His knowledge. The Righteous One, My Servant will make many righteous and He will bear their iniquities. Therefore I will give Him a portion with the great, and He will divide the spoil with the mighty— because He poured out His soul to death, and was counted with transgressors. For He bore the sin of many, and interceded for the transgressors. Isaiah 53:1-12

Tsade (צ)  man on side, chase, snare, hunt. The Tsade has a number value of 90 (judgement).

He enters into shalom. They rest on their beds, each who walked in his integrity.  Isaiah 57:2

Of David. Do not fret because of evildoers, nor be envious of them who do wrong. Psalms 37:1

A psalm of David. Adonai , oppose those who oppose me. Fight those who fight me. Take hold of shield and buckler, and rise up to my help. Draw out also a spear and battle-axe. Stop those who pursue me. Say to my soul: “I am your salvation.” May those who seek my life be ashamed and disgraced. May they be turned back and humiliated —those who plot evil against me. May they be like chaff before the wind, with the angel of Adonai driving them off. May their way be dark and slippery, with the angel of Adonai pursuing them. For without cause they hid their net for me, and without cause they dug a pit for my soul. Let ruin come upon him by surprise. Let the net he hid entangle himself —into that same pit let him fall. Then my soul will rejoice in Adonai and delight in His salvation. All my bones will say: “ Adonai , who is like You, rescuing the poor from one too strong for him, the poor and needy from one who robs him?” Violent witnesses rise up. They question me about things I know nothing about. They repay me evil for good— my soul is forlorn. But as for me, when they were sick, my clothing was sackcloth. I afflicted my soul with fasting, my prayer kept returning to my heart. I went about mourning as though for my own friend or brother. I bowed down dressed in black as though for my own mother. But at my stumbling they gathered in glee. Wretches gathered against me whom I did not know, tearing at me without ceasing. They mocked profanely, as if at a feast, they gnashed at me with their teeth. My Lord, how long will You look on? Rescue my soul from their ravages— my solitary existence from the lions. I praise You in the great assembly, acclaiming You among a throng of people. Do not let my deceitful enemies gloat over me without cause, nor let those who hate me for nothing wink an eye. For they never speak shalom , but devise deceitful words against the quiet ones in the land. Yes, they open their mouth wide against me, saying: “Aha! Aha! Our own eyes have seen it!” You have seen it, Adonai —be not silent! Adonai , be not far from me. Arise, awaken to my defense, to my cause—my God and my Lord! Vindicate me, Adonai my God, according to Your justice, and do not let them gloat over me. Don’t let them say in their heart: “Aha! Just what we wanted!” Don’t let them say: “We swallowed him up!” May they be ashamed and humiliated, those who rejoice over my misery. May they who exalt themselves over me be clothed with shame and disgrace. May they shout for joy and be glad, those who delight in my righteous cause. May they always say: “Exalted be Adonai , who delights in His servant’s shalom .” Then my tongue will declare aloud Your justice and Your praises all day. Psalms 35:1-28
A Tzaddik refers to a righteous man, As it is written, “There is no one righteous—no, not one. Romans 3:10
My children, I am writing these things to you so that you will not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an Intercessor with the Father—the righteous Messiah Yeshua . 1 John 2:1

Vav (ו) add, peg nail. The number value is 6 (man)

The other disciples were saying to him, “We’ve seen the Lord!” But he replied to them, “Unless I see the nail prints in His hands, and put my finger into the mark of the nails, and put my hand in His side, I will never believe!”
John 20:25

Heh(ה) Behold, to show, reveal. The number value is 5.

Behold My servant, whom I uphold. My Chosen One, in whom My soul delights. I have put My Ruach on Him, He will bring justice to the nations. Isaiah 42:1
After six days, Yeshua takes with Him Peter and Jacob and John his brother, and brings them up a high mountain by themselves. Now He was transfigured before them; His face shone like the sun, and His clothes became as white as the light. And behold, Moses and Elijah appeared to them, talking with Yeshua . Peter responded to Yeshua , “Master, it’s good for us to be here! If You wish, I will make three sukkot here—one for You, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah.” While He was still speaking, suddenly a bright cloud overshadowed them; and behold, a voice from out of the cloud, saying, “This is My Son, whom I love; with Him I am well pleased. Listen to Him!” When the disciples heard this, they fell face down, terrified. But Yeshua came and touched them. “Get up,” He said. “Stop being afraid.” And lifting their eyes, they saw no one except Yeshua alone.
Matthew 17:1-8
Rejoice greatly, daughter of Zion! Shout, daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your king is coming to you, a righteous one bringing salvation. He is lowly, riding on a donkey— on a colt, the foal of a donkey. Zechariah 9:9
Fear not, Daughter of Zion! Look! Your King is coming, sitting on a donkey’s colt.” John 12:15

Adding the value of the numbers together total 501 (Hashem’s eternal grace)
0- eternity,  1- HASHEM,  5- grace
5+0+1=6 (The number for man)

A psalm of David. Adonai declares to my Lord: “Sit at My right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for Your feet.” Adonai will extend your mighty rod from Zion: “Rule in the midst of your enemies.” Your people will be a freewill offering in a day of your power. In holy splendors, from dawn’s womb, yours is the dew of your youth. Adonai has sworn, and will not change His mind: “You are a Kohen forever according to the order of Melechizedek .” My Lord is at your right hand. He will shatter kings in the day of His wrath. He will judge among the nations, heaping up corpses. He will crush heads over the entire land. He will drink from a stream along the way —so His head will be exalted. Psalms 110:1-7
For every kohen gadol taken from among men is appointed to act on behalf of people in matters relating to God, so that he may offer gifts and sacrifices for sins. He is able to empathize with the ignorant and deluded, since he himself also is subject to weakness. For this reason he has to make offerings for sins—just as for the people, so also for himself. And no one takes this honor for himself, but only when he is called by God, as Aaron was. So also Messiah did not glorify Himself to be made Kohen Gadol; rather, it was God who said to Him, “You are My Son; today I have become Your Father.” And He says in a different passage, “You are a kohen forever, according to the order of Melechizedek .” In the days of His life on earth, Yeshua offered up both prayers and pleas, with loud crying and tears, to the One able to save Him from death; and He was heard because of His reverence. Though He was a Son, He learned obedience from what He suffered. And once made perfect, He became the source of eternal salvation to all who obey Him— called by God Kohen Gadol “according to the order of Melechizedek .” About this subject there is much for us to say, and it is hard to explain since you have become sluggish in hearing. For although you ought to be teachers by this time, again you need someone to teach you the basics of God’s sayings. You have come to need milk, not solid food. For anyone living on milk is inexperienced with the teaching about righteousness—he is an infant. But solid food is for the mature, who through practice have their senses trained to discern both good and evil. Hebrews 5:1-14

Behold, Messiah Yeshua!

Hello!

image

“When I was pregnant with you”,  my mother used to tell me, ” I was going to name you Bobbi-Jo.” I cannot imagine this… She would continue with, “but, When I first looked at you, you looked like an ‘Angela’.” I’m thankful, HalleluYah !  According to some candle someone once gave me, my name means, Angel, Messenger, and can also mean “lovable”.  The Sages, say when a parent names a child, it’s the closest a person can come to “prophesy”.  Beyond my name, there is an “essence”. This essence is who My Father is.  My Father spoke The Torah. This is who I desire to be, the bride! The Bridegroom-King is Coming soon.

Beyond your name is your very essence as well. It is who you are. It is what defines you. Do you believe in G-d? What do you do with that belief?   How many people who say they believe in G-d are depressed? Sick? Tired? Unhappy? How can this be?

For those of you who only read the “New Testament” (I like the thought of it all being one book), consider what Peter means to “submit yourselves to the elders” here:

Likewise, you younger ones, submit yourselves to the elders. And all of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, for “God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, so that He may lift you up at the appropriate time. 1 Peter 5:5-6

I believe Peter may have been teaching from this weeks’ portion in Torah,  Tetzaveh, meaning, “you shall command”, see how it  begins:

“Also you are to command Bnei-Yisrael , that they are to bring to you pure olive oil beaten for the light, to cause a lamp to burn continually.”  Exodus 27:20

The Sages, some of our “elders”, say this particular Torah portion deals with Aarons appointment as the High Priest and the duties of his descendants. From the time of Moshe’s birth until his death, his name is mentioned in each Torah portion—except this one,  Tetzaveh. It’s clear to see that in the first two words here that G-d is having a private conversation with none other than Moshe himself, The man of humility.  Face to face, reflecting His Presence.  Indeed, Moshe had the humility to “step aside” and “let Aaron have his moment” (as any good leader should do)  ..but,  there may be a deeper understanding as well.

What is it that G-d is instructing Moshe to do?  G-d is telling Moshe to command Bnei-Yisrael (The Children of Israel) , that they are to bring to Moshe “pure” olive oil. “beaten” for the “light” to cause the lamp to burn “continually”.

First things first, consider, the “Light” here that is to burn continually, in the dark of night, for all generations, I tend to believe, this refers to The Messiah! He is The Light of The World.  “Beaten” is kind of interesting because the process of extracting olive oil from the olive involves crushing and then refining or filtering to remove the bits and pieces. Since the oil comes from the pit itself, once an olive is ripe, the oil begins a natural excretion inside the fruit. If you wait until the olive is really super ripe, you can just squeeze it and out will come the purest form of oil.  “Pure” in the Hebrew text here is zak (זך) which comes from the verb root zakak (זכך) which means pure, clean, to be bright, and purer.  Look into the primitive root of this word you will see zakah (זכה) meaning blameless, to be clear, cleansed. The tsade, ז, is a picture of a sword, a weapon, or an axe. The kaph, כ, is an open hand, to cover, the power to suppress or lift up, or a wing.  The heh, ה, means an open window, G-d’s breath, to show, reveal, to behold and it’s pictogram is a man praising HASHEM.

Does this begin to explain what Peter meant by clothing ourselves in humility towards one another? The true nature, the purity, of Holiness rises above the chaos, weapon in hand (The Word), to illuminate HASHEM.   Look again at what  Peter says,   “God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble. Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of G-d..” Pride is,  “it’s all about me”.  Peeking ahead to next week’s portion you might notice it’s the scene with the golden calf. After the tablets were ruined, Moshe has to go back up the mountain. HASHEM is ready to wipe out this ‘stiff-necked’ people and give it all to Moshes’ seed. At this point IF Moshe was full of pride, he could have said, “go for it!”.  Instead, look at the “atonement” Moshe made,

Yet now, please forgive their sin. But if not, please blot me out of Your book that You have written.” Exodus 32:32

If you blot them out, blot me out as well. Humility at its best. Talk about laying down ones life!  Moshe knew it was not about him at all.  Abraham, the man of kindness, refers to himself as dust in Genesis 18:27, as he interceded for Sodom, Then Abraham answered and said, “Look, pray, I have decided to speak to my L-rd, though I am dust and ashes.”   and David, the man of Leadership, a “King”, a man after G-d’s own heart sang, in Psalm 22, Am I a worm, and not a man? Am I a scorn of men, despised by people?”

A name is given to each of us. Mostly to get our attention.  We come into the world nameless and our parents give us a name. It sets us apart as an individual.  For a moment, let’s think about Beethoven. If Beethoven would have never learned to play the piano, all that talent inside and nothing! He still has his name, just no essence of symphony. Beethoven had to be introduced and educated, work at it,  then came the beautiful music.  On the flip side.. Doctor X can spend years studying to be a doctor, get his degree, set up a practice, but he could still be a crummy doctor.  Unless you work at it, you have nothing.  So if we say we believe in G-d,  then we have must have something there, hidden inside, the talent of a King, the obedience of a good son or daughter, the very bride of the Bridegroom. It’s that essence that needs to be “educated”. Shalom (peace) can be achieved when you come to that level of clearness, blameless-ness, cleanliness, like the pure oil for the lamp.  Torah provides that education. We all go through our own “crossing of the sea” and we will face battles. These things educate us.  Pride destroys families, relationships,  marriages, & congregations.   But G-d ! He has a mighty hand and And His Word is Truth.

Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, so that He may lift you up at the appropriate time. 1 Peter 5:6. This would be the illumination. The result of the clear, pure, “blameless” oil. The essence of who G-d created you to be in The Messiah Yeshua. He made the ultimate atonement so we can rise to the very level of what Our Creator desires us to be.

What is beyond your name? Do you know what the hidden treasure inside of you contains. G-d has His name written in your very DNA. To discover what that is you have to educate it with Torah. The very Word of The Holy One, the Father, The Bridegroom, Yeshua!

Spread The Love!

image

Human nature is desire for connection with another, to love and to be love. Pure, safe, healthy love. I haven’t met a person yet, who didn’t desire this. Today, I was leaving the grocery store, walking next to a young woman that had vibrant purple hair with black at the base (I can’t help but to notice the hair first. 🙂 At first glance, besides the purple hair, she was dressed completely in black, spikes around her neck, and some facial jewelry to match. She looked at me as I looked at her, I smiled and said, “Did you know that purple is the color of royalty?” She smiled and her face lit up (I saw her beauty). She responded, “I didn’t know that, thank you.”
Today we begin a new week. This week’s Torah portion is titled Tetzaveh. You can read this portion in your bible in Exodus 27:20-30:10. Let’s just examine the title. Tetzaveh, תצוה , in Hebrew, means you shall command. The tav, (ת) meaning the mark, sign, covenant, joining two things together. The tsade, (צ) symbolizes a fish hook, desire, man bowing down. The vav  (ו) shows joining together, nail, peg, becoming bound, making secure. The last letter, heh (ה), it means to reveal, to show, behold, G-d’s breath.
This portion deals almost exclusively with the Kohanim (priesthood), their selection, their vestments, and the inauguration services by means of which their children and their children’s children would become confirmed for all time.  What might this have to do with you or me.

“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the praises of the One who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light. 1 Peter 2:9

The growth of a covenant where a man bows in submission before The Holy One and becomes marked or bound to the revelation of G-d. This just might be a better explanation than “you shall command”.
The children of Israel just built the Mishkan, the dwelling place, the tabernacle in the wilderness, the place by which G-d will dwell “in” His People.  The place where His Word is to be guarded, kept, treasured.  If your heart just happens to be the dwelling place for this same “love”, then it is time to start living like royalty, His Way. The veil was torn so that all could find ….hello…..Torah. This is what was stored behind the veil, in the precious Ark of The Covenant,  below the Mercy Seat (meaning atonement cover). Yeshua’s blood fulfilled it all so ALL may follow Torah and have the words of eternal life.
After Yeshua taught His disciples about how He was the “bread of life” some just didn’t get it. They thought it was too hard. They grumbled, complained, some walked away, fell away, however you like to think of it. But Peter says it all, here, you read it:

So when many of His disciples heard this, they said, “This is a hard teaching. Who can listen to it?” But Yeshua knew His disciples were murmuring, so He said to them, “Does this offend you? Then what if you see the Son of Man going back up to the place where He was before? It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh is of no benefit. The words I have spoken to you are Spirit and are life! Yet some of you do not trust.” Yeshua knew from the beginning who were the ones who did not trust, as well as which one would betray Him. Then He told them, “For this reason I’ve told you that no one can come to Me unless it has been granted to him by the Father.” From this time, many of His disciples left and quit walking with Him. So Yeshua said to the Twelve, “You don’t want to leave also, do you?” Simon Peter answered Him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life! We have trusted and have come to know that you are the Holy One of God.” John 6:60-69

Does Torah offend you? You are nothing without it. It’s Life. And you cannot speak life if you really know nothing about it. You cannot love if you really don’t know what love is. Every person created has an essence of greatness. G-d made us like that. As a Royal Priesthood, our first duty in the portion is to keep the lamp “illuminated”.  Sometimes that lamp may be barely shining in our fellow man or woman and we may need to “fan the flame” slightly. Learning to see that beyond the shell to the core of who He created us to be for Him helps us to see the same in others!
Let His Word change you. Your very essence is Greatness, Royalty, & Righteousness with or without purple hair.
